Chingay Reflection (Ying Chen Fei)

I really enjoyed myself at the Chingay Parade. It was fun yet educational. I had a whale of a time with my friends, throwing confetti that was raining down on us at each other. It was also interesting to watch the performances. At the same time, I learnt that racial harmony was important in Singapore as we are a multi-religious country. We should learn to respect the cultures and practices of other races. It was a wonderful learning journey. I hope that there will be more chances to attend parades like this again.

1)I have learnt to be more observant through the lessons and not judge on first impression.Theres way more stripy behind than the picture than we can't see.I was shock to learn that the man was this strong to be able to get on his feet again,a little donation goes a long way,he just need money before he could live his life like he wished it to be.While the woman was pitiful too but I might not give her single cent.I. Think that sympathy does not help in this case, the beast way is to let the organisation know that they cannot earn money in this way.

I enjoyed the bright colors and the lively atmosphere in the parade. The music that was playing in the background and the happiness of the performers had really affected my mood that day because when I had first sat down with my classmates in a row, I was thinking that this parade might be just another educational but boring learning journey. At the start of the program, I was merely recording it down with my iPad, not really that interested in watching the actual performance that was before me. As the parade moved on, it began to catch my attention with all of its parade floats before long I had stopped recording the remaining of the program with my iPad because I was so caught up in the moment that I was standing up and cheering wildly. The possible areas of improvement might be that the parade could last longer through the night so that the lighting of the parade in the dark would give a bigger impact.

I did not expect this learning journey to be this exciting and educational at the same time and I would not hesitate to attend this parade again. Through this parade itself, I had learnt quite a lot of things by watching the scenes that drifted past as the parade went on. This is indeed one learning journey that I would never regret attending.

The color I choose is red as I feel that red represents good luck and fortune due to the richness of its color. This color also symbolizes virtue, truth and sincerity.

The image I choose is the lit firecrackers. The firecrackers are known for their deafening explosions that are thought to scare away evil spirits and the burning of firecrackers also shows a joyful time of year.

It symbolizes the arrival of luck, happiness, and prosperity because '福' represents luck and by rearranging it so that the ' 福' faces downwards it is almost identical to the phrase ' good luck arrives '.
